Goose Pond Community

Pike Co Pennsylvania

1843

The "goose pond" was the name of the locality where the Social Reform Unity attempted its practice, and on the breaking up and separation of the One-Mentian Association which was located in the same Co. a Mr. Hudson and several others took the property which had been used by the Social Reform Unity and commenced a community with the above title. This attempt was more on the plan of Mr. Owen's but after a few months existence it likewise totally failed. I have been informed
