John D. Everitt Teaching Contracts and Poll List

Contract of 25-September-1817

               ARTICLE FOR SIX MONTHS
			   
          To commence on the 1st day of October
		  
		  
We the subscribers of the township of Montague and
Sandyston County of Sussex State of new Jersey do agree
with John D. Everitt to teach a regular English day school
in the schoolhouse in the township of Sandyston near John
I. Westbrook, for the term of six months for which service we
promise to pay the sum of One dollar and fifty cents per 
quaite for each schollar we shall sign or send on or before
the expiration of the above mentioned time said Everitt is to
teach Reading writing and arithmetic to the best of his skill
and knowledge, we the subscribers do agree to find said Ever-
itt in boarding and lodging during said service
And we further agree and promise to furnish the school with
fire wood on equal proportion according to the number of 
schollars we shall sign or send on when notified this the 25th
day of Sept. 1817.
