Subscribers of Montague
Jany. 29, 1826.
We the subscribers of the Township of Montague, County
Of Sussex and State of New Jersey do agree with John D. Everitt
to teach a regular English day school in the Brick yard School
house near Richard McKeeby's in Montague for the term of three
months for which service we promise to pay One Dollar or two
Bushels of Rye for each Scholar we shall sign for or send on or
before the expiration of said term -- Said Everitt is to teach
Reading, Writing and Arithmetic to the Best of his understanding
and board himself, And we the subscribers promise and agree to
furnish the school with fire wood cut up by the door or furnish
an ax in proportion to the number of Scholars we shall sign for
or send -- Jany. 29th, 1826 Comd.
