John D. Everitt Teaching Contracts and Poll List

Contract of 13-December-1827

We the subscribers of the Township of Montague County
of Sussex and State of New Jersey do agree with John D.
Everitt to teach a regular English day school in the Brick
yard shool house in sd. township for the term Of three
months - For which service we promise to pay him One Dollar
Or Two Bushels of Merchantable Rye on or Before the expir-
ation of the term for each schollar we shall sign or send
sd. Everitt is to teach Reading Writing and Arithmetic-
And we the subscribers do agree to repair and make the house
comfortable for the season or term And we further agree to
furnish our equal proportion of fire wood according to the
schollars we shall sign or send sd Everitt is to Board Him-
